H R Generalist / Benefits Representative

Job Summary: To administer the benefit plans for the Company and provide general human resource support. Essential Functions: • Administer employee benefit programs including life, disability and health plans. Assist the Director of Human Resources in the administration of the 401k plan. • Responsible for FMLA administration. • Responsible for enrolling eligible employees in the various benefit products (medical, dental, life, etc.) • Conduct benefits meetings to include open enrollment. Also conducts 401k meetings. • Ensure that packets for benefits and 401k meetings include all mandated forms and notifications. • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, including the provisions of COBRA and HIPAA. • Electronically file mandated reports annually (i.e., EEO-1 report, CMS Data Match report, etc.). • Maintain organizational charts and staffing requisitions to ensure staffing stays within budgetary constraints. • Create, maintain and distribute various human resource reports (i.e., quarterly turnover reports, monthly termination reports, next review date reports, etc.). • Assist with the development and maintenance of company policies and procedures. Update employee handbooks as needed. • Respond to employee/managements inquiries pertaining to human resources. • Assist with new hire recruiting. Monitor application flow. • Assist HR Director with special projects, training preparation, wage surveys, etc. • Maintain all departmental forms. • Track and ensure Form I-9 compliance. • Maintain archives in accordance with federal and state regulations. • Conduct new hire processing, as needed. • Maintain employee personnel files, worker’s comp. files, I-9 files, medical files, etc. • Perform all other job requests as assigned by management. Job Specifications: • Minimum three years human resources experience, with at least two years benefits experience. • Excellent communications skills required. • Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred. • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite required. • B.S. degree in Human Resources, or SPHR or PHR certification required.
